Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

all of the stores around my area ran completely out of toilet paper this last weekend.
people were piling it into their carts and vehicles as if they were going to be holed up for a year.

on the BBC news last night;
there are 1543 known cases in the uk--55 deaths ---thats 3.5%, which seems a worryingly high percentage
however, it is estimated there are 50,000 unreported cases here.

well--judging by the BBC news in the UK--it looks like the whole world is facing a major catastrophy--disease and deaths, economic chaos, break down of law and order.

by SBlackwell ini am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses, but i can remember the excellent talks given by the above frank sartin, an elder and i think at one time a zone overseer in the lancashire area of the uk.
upon doing some research i read that he died back in 2015. .
does anyone else remember him?.

How was it possible that some members fall asleep or nod off during meetings?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ina while back, we had a saturday wedding reception for a brother and sister from our kingdom hall.
the reception ended at midnight.
most of us got home at around 1:00 a.m. our sunday public talk meeting started at 9:30 a.m. .

as a young kid--i can remember my mother getting a book of mormon from some guy who came to visit a few times; but she was also having visits from jw's as well.
in the end she went for the watchtower hard sell.
